SLG in a box
Hey,
I`ve started a new project and call SLG in a Box. It`s a combination of Sync Strike, SLG3000 plus easy to use gbs8220 scaler PCB. I`ll drop more news and features these days. For first only the pics:

Installation Pictorial of DIY Scaler Chain
Pictorial for Installation of the DIY Scaler Chain.
Step 1
Check your parts:
Plug the VGA Adapter in Sync Strike and SLG3000. Use on SLG3000 the connector "video in". Both should fit smoothly.
Step 3
Plug the power harness in the Upscaler PCB with the white connector. The open end wire will be screwed into the power screw terminals of the Sync Strike device
RED WIRE -> 5V
BLACK WIRE -> GND
The screw terminal are labeled on the Sync Strike PCB.
Step 4
Connect Sync Strike plus VGA Adapter and SLG3000 plus VGA Adapter to the Scaler PCB. Check the picture for the connectors.
Step 5
Connect RGB Scart cable to Sync Strike. Connect VGA Cable to SLG3000.
Step inbetween
Before powering up your stuff take a break and relax.
Then take a look again at your setup and check it. Connectors fitting fine? Screw terminals are screwed down properly? Ok, go ahead.
Step 6

Connect the PSU to the SCALER PCB.
Expected result:

Red LED is light on. Switch is in position "PSU".
Red LED is light on. Take a look at the button, you need them later.
Red LED is light on. Turn the switch to position on. Turn Dip4 to on, DIP to off.
Step 7
Configure your scaler.

First, the scaler is from china, so set it to english language. Use the 4 buttons on the scaler PCB. The enclosure has cut outs here.
- Goto point 4. (still chinese right now) and then check point 1. for english language setting.

- Goto point 3. Display and set it to resolution 640x480.
- Goto point 2. Geometry and center your picture.
Expected Result
You should now see the scanlines on your LCD. Congrats your`re done.

This is the project called SLG Scart. It gives just Scanlines to RGB SCART consoles without any need of additional scaler or sync stripper. It`s easy to install and to configure.
Installation:
- Step 1 : Connect it inbetween Your RGB Scart Console and your LCD with Scart input.
- Step 2 : Plug in Power Supply Unit
That's all. Turn on and off the scanlines, adjust the scanlines level, just as you want.

Scaler PCB gbs8220 and SNES RGB SCART
Hey,
since some people got issues connecting their RGB SCART modded SNES PAL consoles to my DIY scaler kit I`ve put some work into a solution.
Here`s the scaler chain in combination with the scanline generator SLG 3000
The used scaler PCB is the gbs8220. Similar pcb is used for the HD Box Pro. So talking about the gbs8220 could apply to other devices like Hd Box pro, too.
First of all, thanks to Florian who sents me his whole SNES equipment for testing. I`ve put up the chain and got the well known "No Signal" error. Nevertheless I know that my stuff is working properly, so I was quite sure that there must something with the scaler. But after a little chat with Fudoh (thanks man!) he pointed out that the XRGB-3 has same issues with SNES. So I focused on the SNES RGB cable.
It turns out that SNES signal level are far to high from a RGB point of view. So I made a attentuation circuit and put it into the RGB Cable, where it should placed imho.
SNES setup with Sync Strike, Scaler and modded RGB cable.

close up of modded RGB cable with attentuation.

works ;)

50 Hz with scanlines
60 Hz with scanlines
I`ve included here my sclaer settings. The scaler tend to quit work if the picture is not centred. So relax, take your time and configure your scaler properly for your LCD.
